Parents of the year.

Mark is graciously doing the Couch to 5k running program with me to get back in pre-baby shape. Ok, hopefully better than pre-baby shape. We are in the middle of week 2 right now. Tonight, it rained. Then it stopped raining, so we decided we could do a quick 30 minute run/ walk. I was pushing Levi in a stroller and Mark was pushing Asher. We got almost a mile from the house and it started pouring. So, we did the only logical thing we could think of and that was to scream and try to run home. Now, I jogged the 2 mile loop on Saturday with Mark without strollers, but I am not quite in " running the entire time while pushing a stroller" shape. I just had a baby!

Anyway, it probably turned out to be a pretty good work out because we ran more than the program called for and laughed at our stupidity most of the time. Laughing is a good ab workout right?!?!

Miraculously, Levi's stroller kept him perfectly dry because he was completely covered...he even slept!

Asher did not stay dry! He was soaked!

PS, nice socks with crocs Asher!

And here we have the nominees for "Parents of the Year".

Oops.

The following things did not sell at our church yard sale and I just don't understand why.

#1 Hat to commemorate something you did not do.

# 2 Creepy doll with the chickenpox

# 3 Lovely chair

#4 Life sized Easter bunny

# 5 Free, crusty chair.

Come on people...missing out on good stuff!

Sleeping boys.

This...

...and this...

...don't happen at the same time during the day very often. I thought I should document it:)

Slow. Down.

Today Levi is 6 weeks and 3 days old. I was dressing him yesterday and realized he has completely outgrown a whole set of his clothing already. Newborn clothes are way too short now and some 0-3 month clothing is too small. For the most part he is wearing 3 month stuff. Some of it is too big but he definitely needs the length of it. I looked in his closet this morning to lay some stuff out for the day and his closet now has this BIG HOLE.

It kind of makes this mommy sad...but then I look at this guy...

...and realize sometimes things only get better with time!

Love my boys:)

Bath and Belly

Asher and Levi are in the process of mastering two very different skills. Asher has become a skilled camera dodger and Levi is learning to do push ups!

Here is the evidence:

Asher is scooting towards the end of the tub as fast as he can. Too bad for him I still caught a cute picture:)

Here he is trying to dart me by staring at the ceiling.

Third times a charm...caught him!

Levi is "enjoying" a little tummy time...

...almost!

Yay! Pretty good push-up for 6 weeks. Getting stronger every day:)

Loving our sweet boys,

Mark and Allyson

Blogsy

This is an old picture but it is Asher's best wow face. It describes how I feel right now.
Wow. If you blog and have an iPad, you must purchase this app.

Stop what you are doing.

Go to your app store.

Download "blogsy".

Thank me later.

It might just change your life. It is $4.99, but totally worth it. It allows you to drag images from your iPad or any other place for that matter directly into your blogpost.

So. Stinkin. Easy.

I no longer have an excuse not to blog.

Georgia and Arizona

Last week we loaded up the car and headed out on a 6 hour trip to Georgia to celebrate the life of Mark's Paw Paw. They had a nice graveside service for him on Saturday morning. After we got back to Mark's mom and dad's house, we took Asher to the duck pond. He really enjoyed throwing bread over the fence! Here he is with Daddy showing off his awesome arm!

I tried to take a picture with my crazy son about 3 times and this is as good as it was going to get. One of these days I will get him to actually look at the camera....
After the duck pond, we headed over to the playground. Asher had a great time with Grammy and Pop Pop!

That evening, some of my friends came over that live in the Chattanooga area. Mandy's little girl, Maggie, is about a month older than Levi. There are actually 4 children in this picture. I will give you a hint...neither Mandy or I are pregnant:) Can't wait to meet the little Boren!

On Monday, we flew out to Phoenix to see more of Mark's family. Our nephew Caleb was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. He just started his chemo treatments and is doing great! We were so thankful to be able to fly out and spend some time with Jeremy, Tera, Caleb, and Cully. Grammy, Pop Pop, and Uncle Seth were there too! Because we all live in different parts of the United States, it is a rare occasion that we are all together in the same room at one time. Caleb is one strong little boy and we can't wait for the day that we get to celebrate that he is cancer free! That will be quite a party!  You can follow along with their journey at www.jeremyandtera.blogspot.com .

A little bonus is that Levi got to meet more family for the first time! Here he is with Uncle Jeremy...

Aunt Tera and Levi...

Cousin Cully and Levi...

Cousin Caleb and Levi.

Caleb had been in the hospital for about 3 weeks and so the night that he got to come home we had a big head shaving party! Here are 3 generation of Thompson's sporting their new buzz cuts!

I just love this picture of the boys...poor Levi:)
My favorite picture of all....Daddy and Asher!
We are back in Indiana now. I have 2 more weeks of maternity leave, go back to work for a month, and then bring on our crazy summer!

Much love,
Mark, Allyson, Asher, and Levi:)

Easter Eggs

The month of April was definitely a crazy one! We are finally getting settled as a family of four, we have had lots of house guests, and we celebrated Easter. Last week alone, we drove to Georgia, drove back to Nashville, flew to Phoenix, flew back to Nashville, and drove home again. I am tired just thinking about it. Here are a few pictures of our sweet boys on Easter weekend at the Easter egg hunting party at church.

More posts and pictures to come! Check back tomorrow!
